About the Project
The Heart of the Gelephu Maitreya Temple
The Gelephu Maitreya Temple is not just a feat of architecture. It is a story of a King’s vision, and one monk’s quiet, decades-long devotion to the Buddha of Loving-Kindness.
Master Plan for Maitreya Temple
The Four Main Halls of
Maitreya Temple
Maitreya Temple
(Jamba Lhakhang)
The main Maitreya Temple in the centre will house a Buddha Maitreya statue standing at 35 to 40 feet surrounding by a thousand smaller Buddha Maitreya statues.
Temple of Longevity (Tse Lha Nam Sum Lhakhang)
Health and long life are essential aspirations for every sentient being. To cater to these universal needs and to prevent untimely deaths, a temple dedicated to Tse Lha Nam Sum will be constructed.
Abode of Amitabha (Yoed Par Med gi Zhingki)
Life is impermanent, and as humans, we must confront the inevitability of death. To prepare for the journey and ensure a rebirth, the park will feature sacred spaces dedicated to the Pure Land Buddhas.
Temple of Prosperity (Norlha Lhakhang)
Material wealth and prosperity are fundamental to a stable life. This temple will serve as a place where devotees can invoke the blessings of these deities, fostering both spiritual and material prosperity.
A sacred mandala of compassion, longevity, prosperity, and liberation — designed to serve both present and future generations.
